9. Manual embossing
While digital embossing systems are deemed as necessary in order to keep abreast of the rapidly changing needs and demands of the license plate industry, the essence of manual embossing is never overstated. This is because this embossing method is still considered as the most prevalent mode of number plate identification in a number plate machine. The transition of computerized systems into manual embossing has been made possible with the introduction of Embossing Production Enhancement Systems. It has been patterned to the specific needs of manual embossing operations. This system is highly applicable in the case of non-sequential number plates. Amidst of its wide array of configurations, it still sticks into a primary goal and that it is to render a graphic display of each licensed plate number that needs to embossed by the number plate operator.
Aside from displaying the tag identification number, the display also includes the required sequence of the manually placed stuffs such as special characters and spacers. Once the number plate machine operator places the tooling as specified, there will be a verification stressing out the system is valid before a permissive interlock takes place. This system is very beneficial as it lessens the percentage of waste because of mis-made number plates. In addition to that, it also links the status of production of each plate back to the digital order database.
